Most SEO reporting is built to look like progress. Here is the short list of things that actually indicate something, and the ones designed to reassure you.
New articles every week, published automatically to your own site. How many depends on the plan.
The same engine publishes every week for businesses we own, so we live with its output the way our clients do.
Enquiries and calls, first and above everything. Then impressions and clicks for terms that describe what you sell, from Search Console, which is free. Then how many of your pages are actually indexed. That is close to the complete list for a local business.
Total traffic including everyone who bounced. Domain authority scores, which are invented by tool vendors and not used by any search engine. Keyword counts that include terms nobody searches. Position for your own business name, which you were always going to win. A report full of these is a report avoiding the first list.
Ask which of these numbers connects to money, and watch what happens. A vendor comfortable with the question will tell you honestly that content takes months and here is what has been published meanwhile. One who is not will point at a graph going up and hope you do not ask what it measures.
For a site starting near zero, months before anything meaningful moves, and the early signs are impressions rising for terms you never used to appear for at all. That is genuine progress even before clicks follow. Anyone giving you a date for a position is guessing, and we would rather lose the sale than join them.
Where 8ight fits. Everything above is work that has to happen continuously. We automate the publishing half: three to six articles a week onto your own site, built to rank and carrying everything Google rewards. You can read what published today before you spend anything.
Google Search Console and a Business Profile. Both free, both more useful than most paid tools for a local business.
Ask. "How did you find us" is imperfect and still better than any attribution model at this scale. A dedicated number on the site helps if you want to be rigorous.
Check what has actually been published first — in most cases the honest answer is very little. If real content has been going out consistently and nothing at all has moved by six months, something is wrong and it is worth a serious look.
Pricing is tailored to the business. The plans differ by publishing volume and how much of the AI-search work is included; book a demo and we scope it with you, or start free with 3,000 credits, no card.
Enter your URL and we will show you the kind of article that would be publishing for your business.
