The least interesting thing in local search, and one of the most decisive. It is also the one most businesses quietly get wrong.
New articles every week, published automatically to your own site. How many depends on the plan.
The same engine publishes every week for businesses we own, so we live with its output the way our clients do.
Search engines and AI systems are trying to be confident about who you are. Every place your details appear is a vote. When the votes agree, confidence rises. When one directory has a number you stopped using in 2019, that is not a small untidiness — it is a contradiction that has to be resolved, and the resolution is not always in your favour.
An old directory listing from a web designer years ago. A duplicate Business Profile nobody claimed. A social profile with a previous address. An aggregator that syndicated your details to twenty sites and never got the update. Most businesses have at least two of these and know about none of them.
Search your business name in quotes, then your phone number in quotes, then any previous number or address. Go through several pages of results. It is tedious and it takes an afternoon, and it typically surfaces every problem a paid audit would have charged you to find.
Anything with a wrong phone number, because that is losing you calls right now in a way nothing else on this list is. Then wrong addresses, then duplicates, then name variations. Format differences in how the address is written matter far less than people claim.
Where 8ight fits. Everything above is work that has to happen continuously. We automate the publishing half: three to six articles a week onto your own site, built to rank and carrying everything Google rewards. You can read what published today before you spend anything.
Minor variations are tolerated. What causes trouble is a genuinely different trading name, or a different phone number, in a place that still ranks.
Usually not. A handful of relevant, correct listings beats hundreds of low-quality ones, and mass citation building has been ineffective for years.
Manageable, but it needs deliberate work — update the profile, the site, and every listing you can find. Old addresses that stay live are the single most persistent source of this problem.
Pricing is tailored to the business. The plans differ by publishing volume and how much of the AI-search work is included; book a demo and we scope it with you, or start free with 3,000 credits, no card.
Enter your URL and we will show you the kind of article that would be publishing for your business.
