8ight vs Profound

The short answer

Profound describes itself as "the AI marketing platform built for the agentic era" that lets you "see what your customers ask AI, deploy agents to act on it, and measure the results", with an "AI Marketer" that drafts the work and asks your team to approve it (tryprofound.com, as of October 2026). It sells a free trial and custom Enterprise packages to brands, plus agency plans, and Profound says its enterprise capabilities are "trusted by a third of the Fortune 100" (pricing, home page). 8ight is AI infrastructure for business growth: it measures what ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity answer about a business and publishes the work that changes it, and the same platform also covers Google Maps and the Google Business Profile, an AI receptionist, a CRM and email campaigns. If you have a marketing team that wants AI agents across content, social, ads and PR, or up to nine AI engines tracked daily, Profound may be the better fit. If you want Claude and Perplexity checked on every GEO plan, the content published to your own site for you, and what happens after the customer finds you on the same platform, 8ight is built for that.

Where Profound is stronger

We would rather you choose well than choose us. Profound is a much larger company than we are.

  • Enterprise scale. Profound says its enterprise capabilities are "trusted by a third of the Fortune 100" (home page, as of October 2026). Its customers page says "More than 25,000 marketers in 90+ countries do their best work in Profound" and publishes named case studies (customers).
  • AI agents across the marketing team. Its AI Marketer works on content, social posts, paid AI search ads, PR corrections, product launches and brand consistency, not only search (home page). We write and publish articles, and post them to Instagram and Facebook where you connect them.
  • More AI engines, checked daily. Its Enterprise plan tracks "Up to 9 Answer Engines", including Google AI Overviews, Google AI Mode, Microsoft Copilot and DeepSeek, with "ongoing daily tracking" (pricing). We track ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity, every week.
  • Data of its own. Prompt Volumes to "Analyze billions of real user conversations", Agent Analytics on how AI crawlers read your pages, and ChatGPT Shopping at "SKU-level" (home page). We offer none of these three.
  • AI search ads. Ads Studio builds, launches and manages campaigns inside AI answers (press release). We do not run ChatGPT ads or build and report on campaigns aimed at AI answers; our Google Ads service runs Search, Performance Max, YouTube and Shopping campaigns.
  • Research and events. A research hub, the Profound Index and an AEO report, webinars, and the "Zero Click World Tour" in London, Sydney and Singapore (home page, events).
  • Integrations. Its home page lists "200+ Integrations", and its integrations page lists CMS, CDN, analytics, ads and project tools (home page, integrations).
  • Venture backing. Its own press release of 15 September 2026 announces a "$180 million Series D at a $1.8 billion valuation, co-led by Sequoia Capital and Kleiner Perkins" (press release).

Where 8ight is the better fit

  • You want Claude and Perplexity without an enterprise contract. Profound's plans for brands are a free trial that tracks ChatGPT, Gemini and Google AI Overviews "daily for 7 days", and Enterprise at custom pricing, where Claude and Perplexity are among up to nine engines; its agency client workspaces track ChatGPT, Perplexity and Google AI Overviews (pricing). Every 8ight GEO plan checks ChatGPT, Claude, Gemini and Perplexity every week.
  • Nobody on your side will direct the agents. Profound's AI Marketer drafts the work and "pings you for approval", and its Enterprise plan is for companies "running marketing agents at scale" (home page, pricing). We research, write and publish to your own domain; you approve the plan once, or, on request, every article.
  • You want more than search. The same platform that works on getting you named in AI answers also covers Google Maps and the Business Profile, answers the phone, and keeps the leads in a CRM. Profound's pages describe AI search and marketing work, not those layers.
  • You have locations. Map-grid position tracking sits in the same panel as the AI answers.
  • You are an agency that wants the delivery done for you. Under your brand, we research, write and publish the articles on each client's own site; the agency panel and the client panel carry your logo, and we never contact your clients.

What neither of us can do

Guarantee that an AI assistant names you. The answers are generated each time and change as the assistants change. Any vendor or agency that promises a fixed result is guessing.
