New Content vs a Website Redesign

A redesign makes a five-page site look better. It is still a five-page site, and that is usually the actual problem.

Published, not just written

New articles every week, published automatically to your own site. How many depends on the plan.

Run on our own businesses too

The same engine publishes every week for businesses we own, so we live with its output the way our clients do.

8ight The alternative
What it fixes Nothing about how the site looks. Appearance, usability, speed, mobile experience, credibility.
What it does not fix A slow or broken site — fix that first. Having nothing on the site for a search engine to match.
Cost shape Monthly, ongoing, cumulative. A large one-off, then it starts ageing again.
Effect on being found Direct — more pages answering more searches. Indirect, unless the old site was genuinely broken.
Risk Low. Adding pages does not endanger what exists. Real. Badly-handled redesigns lose rankings by changing URLs and dropping content.

When a redesign is the right spend

If the site is not usable on a phone, takes many seconds to load, looks abandoned enough to cost you trust, or you cannot add a page without paying someone — redesign first. Publishing onto a broken foundation is wasted money and we will tell you to fix it before buying anything from us.

When it is the wrong spend

If the site works, loads reasonably and simply does not have much on it, a redesign buys you a better-looking five pages. The reason you are not found is that there is nothing there matching what people search — and no amount of design changes that. This is the most common misdiagnosis we see.

If you do redesign, protect what you have

Keep the URLs, or redirect every single one. Keep the content, or improve it — do not quietly drop pages because they look dated. More businesses have lost rankings to a careless redesign than to any penalty, and it is entirely avoidable if whoever builds it knows to care.

Questions

Can I do both?

Yes, and the order matters: fix anything broken, then publish continuously. Content added to a fixed site compounds; a redesign on top of a thin site does not.

Does 8ight build websites?

No. We publish to the site you already have. If it is WordPress the plugin handles it; if it is something else we establish the route before you pay for anything.

My site is quite old. Is that a problem?

Only if it is slow, not mobile-friendly, or you cannot add pages to it. Old and functional is fine. Search engines do not care what year it looks like.

What it costs

Pricing is tailored to the business. The plans differ by publishing volume and how much of the AI-search work is included; book a demo and we scope it with you, or start free with 3,000 credits, no card.
